Sometimes he’ll text me first and then he will go days without texting me. Part of the problem is he gets addicted to his hobby. Why does he do this?

He has a life and is very interested in his hobby. If you want him to maybe like him more then look into your hobby. Relationships grow between 2 people when they share a lot of the same interests.
