When your ex adds you on social media?

Recently my ex just added me on snapchat. i was at a concert with my friends and my bestfriend posted a pic of me and he saw it on her snap, and he added me shortly after. I was kind of shocked and confused. We haven’t talked in at least 5 months and broke up 2 years ago, but agreed to stay friends…although a lot of drama happened in between then. What would a reason be as to why he would add me from a guys POV?
