What does it mean when a guy friend keeps talking about sex?

He has a girlfriend but often says he’s not that happy (I know, I’m sorry for the girlfriend)

we are close friends, we talk a lot. But recently I’ve noticed he’s been talking a lot more about sex, not with me though but saying things like ‘if a hot girl came on to me I wouldn’t say no’

- is he coming on to me? Or is he just having a general crisis (I agree that either way he needs to talk this out with his girlfriend)

I can’t work out if he’s just talking to me like I’m one of the lads or if he’s seeing how I’d respond..

Girl, that's a red flag that he's bringing up sex so much with you like that. A few thoughts:

- Even if he says it's not about you specifically, constantly talking about hooking up is disrespectful to his girl. Major side-eye.

- Seems like he might be testing the waters with you and seeing how you respond. Guys don't just bring up sex like that for no reason, ya feel?

- Could be trying to make himself seem cool and fun, but ends up coming across kinda skeevy if he's in a relationship already.

- I'd put some distance there to be honest. Don't need that drama if he starts getting ideas about messing around since he claims to not be happy with his girl.

- If he's really your friend, he'll respect you calling that out gently. Like "I get we're close, but can we cool it on the sex talk?" See how he reacts.

Just watch out for yourself here sis! Dudes will pull that "just one of the guys" crap sometimes when they're actually interested. Trust your gut feeling on this one.
