Have you ever been unfaithful in any of your relationships?

For those that chose "Other" , Can you give a reason an explain?

I had a discussion with a male friend of mine who kissed another woman other than his girlfriend, and he feels that "kissing" someone else does not count as being unfaithful...? In my book, it does! Thoughts?!

Hello there... Let me first say, Yes I have been unfaithful in the past. More than once. More than twice, more than three times... If anyone knows about being unfaithful, I 'm positive I do. Good thing that separates myself from others is this.

At the times when I was unfaithful, I can tell you personally, it wasn't about what the average guy makes it about, and I didn't feel good about it after everything was done.I found myself trying to figure out why I was doing what I was doing.I didn't want to cheat, but something made it OK. I found over the years, and it's clear to me more now than ever.

What I know is, men don't really do the complaing thing to their woman. A man may throw a few hints at times, but for the most part, (at least I know with myself) we don't want drama. We want everything to be cool. Emotionally, as a man, most of us, definitely won't come to our woman like that. So what happens is, feelings, that most men feel, and probably can't fathom exactly what it is, but for some reason when shorty at work walks in with that big bright smile, as if life is all good, it strokes whatever that feeling we are having and lures some men in. After I got this understanding, it came clear to me that, that was the issue back them. Messed up thing is, the woman has no clue and ends up hurt

As far as your friend being unfaithful, or deeming it unfaithful or not, all depends on his relationship, and the agreements the two of them made between each-other. Now if he says he doesn't see it as being unfaithful, one way to solve your question, is to ask him, if he mentioned that kiss to his girl, what would she think about it? Because unless the three of them have some sorta agreement between each other , that makes it OK for him to kiss her, I doubt she's cool with it. Which brings me to my first thought, he's probably shooting that at you so he can get a kiss from you.

I read between the lines. Him telling you he kissed another girl, other than his girlfriend, is nothing but him translating what he really wanna to say ; "I gotta girl in all, and you know I do, I ain't trying to hide anything, I just want a kiss from you. A kiss is nothing girl, it's just a kiss." But he went with plan B, the more passive aggressive route.

So to answer your question, if his girl believes he's being unfaithful by kissing another woman, than that's what it is. In reality, you have couples who would be OK with a partner kissing someone else, so I can't generalize an answer, leaning in one direction around this particular situation. But I will tell you personally; If you're in a situation, and you have a problem with your man kissing another woman, then yes, it would be unfaithful. Yes, kissing is cheating. What follows happened when I was 17:

I cheated (no sex, but third base) on my girlfriend after we were dating for two weeks. The other girl and I had a weekend trip planned months before with another couple. She and I had been on-again off-again romantically for six months prior.

I still consider it cheating, but I did tell my girlfriend before I went away who I was going with (they knew each other and the girlfriend knew of our previous relationship). I also did tell her afterward what happened. My girlfriend was not happy (duh).

Yes, I could have cancelled the trip. No my girlfriend did not ask me to. My girlfriend and I continued dating for a few years after that. We've been happily married now almost 20 years. Cheating never crossed my mind after that weekend.

I am telling this story as perspective on cheating for those younger people just starting in relationships. Young people do stupid things, especially young men. Take your relationship into perspective.

I guarantee that my then girlfriends reaction would have been different if the above story happened many months after we started dating, or after we were married.

I'd also adopt a 'two strikes' policy, since while most of us learn from our mistakes, there are those who might take advantage of others, and that's not cool.

Footnote: For those wondering about 'old' men doing stupid things, there are really no such thing as 'old' men. We all stop mental aging as 15 year old boys.

I dated a guy for two months and spent the second month trying to figure out how to break up with him in the nicest way possible (this was very difficult, because his birthday was during that month, and he was constantly busy with practicing for the Battle of the Bands, which was also during that month, and I didn't exactly want to break up with him at school).

During this time, one of his friend's and I became pretty good friends. We talked about some sexual things, but NOT in a flirtatious way; like "I'm eating oatmeal." "Wouldn't it suck to f*** oatmeal?" "Yeah. Now what about that tentacle p*rn?" but not "Oh my God, you're so hot. I want to do all this sh*t with you." However, apparently the guy saw that as me flirting with him, and he told my boyfriend I was flirting with him.

All of his friends saw this as cheating, but I don't really think of it that way, considering I don't even consider our discussions flirting. Seriously, we talk about all sorts of sexual things on this website. Does that mean we're all flirting with each other? I don't think so.

In my book yes, it's cheating!

Being unfaithful is basically anything you wouldn't do with a friend. So, hugging, peck on the cheek is just friends. Kissing on the lips, that's not ok; why do you think films have close ups of it for the romantic aspect?! I'm not the only person, Jeremy Kyle does lie detector results to see if someone has been unfaithful - "we asked you, since the start of your relationship have you had sexual intercourse with anyone else? Have you had sexual contact with anyone else, anything from a kiss to intercourse? Have you passionately kissed any other person?" So it's a commonly known fact kissing is a no no!

And also, I've never ever cheated, never ever will :)

I have never cheated. But I have been cheated on. I was with this guy my freshman year of high school that was really sweet and kind. I didn't like him like how he liked me. I broke up with him instead of cheating on him. He said he respected me for being honest about my feelings and for not cheating. We are best friends to this day. I say if you don't want the person your with to kiss anyone else or do you wrong then you shouldn't do it either. Do on to others as you want to be treated.

i have never cheated with anyone, I don't think that thing is appropriate, I can't state much since I have only had 4 gfs in my life, girls aren't really attracted to me, but I would never cheat, in my opinion if you are going to cheat you might as well leave the person you with, then your being honest there would be a guilt factor. but if I was the type to cheat I don't think I would need a girlfriend it would just be one night stands, which might not be better, but I feel like it would effect people as much.

I really don't understand how people have the nerve to think that kissing, groping, and even flirting don't count as cheating. If you're doing something with someone else that you don't want your SO to know about, then you're cheating.

I have never and I will never cheat. I will admit that I thought about another guy once, but I was about to dump my boyfriend (I wanted to wait until after his birthday) and I didn't make any moves toward that guy until he and I had been over for a few weeks.

No, I have never been unfaithful nor will I ever be, if it's my conscious choice to either be unfaithful or not. Loyalty ranks 2nd on my list of preferred character traits for a reason so how could I ever require that out of others if I wouldn't be loyal myself. My conscience certainly will not all me to do so.

Kissing is cheating. Flirtatious messages that involve sending sexy picks and having phone sex is pretty much cheating too. You wouldn't trust that person again.

I have cheated and been cheated on (involving going as far as sleeping continuously with someone else). I'm certainly not proud of it but sometimes sh*t happens.

While my ex and I were fighting (before we broke up) and he was out of the country, I hung out a few times with this guy that I was interested in dating, but nothing happened. I feel like cheating is about intention, and although my intentions weren't in the right place with this other guy, nothing ever happened.

i'm not sure if this is 'unfaifthful'  but I had a fk buddy and we were suppose to be monogamous.  no strings attached though.  my previous fk disappeared on me and reappeared. I gave in to his pestering but I was still pissed that the sex wasn't even worth it.  after that I just told him to fk off basically.

the most I can think of is that a friend told me a secret and told me not to tell anyone, and I ended up telling my best friend, which I regret but at the same time I didn't think the secret harmed anyone it was actually good news.

What I have noticed with guys and girls like your friend, they feel it is not being unfaithful because they did it but if the tables were turned it is a whole other story.

I cheated once on an ex to get even with him for cheating on me. Very unsatisfactory form of revenge. I learned and I would just leave if it happens again.

I have been unfaithful in my last 3 relationships. I dated other guys other than my boyfriends. BUT, I only started doing it after they started flirting with other girls. And yes it might sound selfish, but I don't forgive and forget. At least I didn't use to.
