Simply using a generic number such as 5 pounds to determine change is not substantial without knowing how much the person weighs. I would use a percentage figure instead to better gauge physical changes. Some people want to lose more weight because of how the loss of the original 5 pounds changed the way they felt about themselves, more confidence, energy, strength etc, they could also want to lose more weight so that they can see more of a 6 pack. My favorite body type would have to be the thin/athletic look.

well -/+ 5 lbs isn't that bad but if you're strictly talking 5 lbs of fat then it an be noticeable. its not a killer though. I prefer either thin or athletic or gym girl or average. you keep going because humans strive for perfection where they see fit.

Yes it does. It just depends on what that 5 pounds is. Losing 5 pounds of FAT makes a significant difference in your body.
