Can you shrink your waist even if you have naturally wide hips and ribcage?

I have naturally large hips and a ribcage that for the most part goes straight down (except for maybe some floating ribs), but I want a smaller waist. Is that possible? If so, how?

People have done this through exercise and some say the use of corsets is also effective. Doctors caution against using corsets as they damage your diaphragm from excessive and prolonged constriction.

Exercise and a balanced diet that minimizes bloating and constipation are the most effective strategies.

If you have a couple pounds of fat and not bones around your waist you can. You would achieve this by working out. If not you may be able to get a smaller waist I don't know this would be done though. I would think it would be dangerous and not worth it though.

Sorry to say this but no, I am built the same way, so I know your pain but there is no way to change that

Not exactly what I meant... If I were to slim up in general, would my waist still shrink... I'm not asking if my bone-structure would.

If there's fat there then yes. If all you can see are rib and muscle, then no.
