I knew I was anorexic when I looked in the mirror and without thinking I said, "I'm so fucking fat and ugly." I knew when I sat on my couch crying because I didn't want to eat anything, and when I obsessively counted my calorie intake and compared my body to all my friends.
You don't have to be skinny to have an eating disorder. It's a MENTAL illness with physical effects.
The second you become concerned with your food intake because you think you'll get "even more fat," get help. I didn't get help and I developed depression. It was terrible.

Anorexia is a serious health condition that can really only be diagnosed by a specialist. However, signs of anorexia to look for are usually like if someone has low self-esteem and/or mentions losing weight or wanting to look like a model or some really skinny girl in the media, which turns out to usually be the case most of the time. Also, anorexic people tend to skip out on meals and hide somewhere on campus during lunchtime so that no one sees that she is not eating.
When you're actually diagnosed by a professional who specializes in Eating Disorders and not just a family doctor.

If the person sees herself/himself as overweight in the mirror despite being not. Skipping meals, vomiting, thinking about food all the time, feeling bad about eating. Obsessing about losing few pounds and then wanting to lose more and more. Seeing very skinny, bony body beauriful and wanting to look same way.
It's a problem if the person can't see the problem or doesn't want to stop. Is getting seriously unhealthy etc.Eating disorders have nothing to do with your weight. You can be thin and fat and have anorexia.
It is mental. When your brain isn't as it should and creates a distorted image of yourself. When you are wearing panties and there are gaps between waistband and skin
