I'm interested in HIIT exercise, how can I get started?

I'm interested in High Intensity Interval Training, but I'm not sure where to start. I'm not heavy or fat, I just need to tone and keep the weight off. My build is an atheletic hourglass and I need pointers on the appropriate healthy exercise. Also, are Dance Dance Revolution tracks great for this work-out?
