When they changed it many 16 and 17 year olds weren't happy with the new age limit.
I don't really care about it because I don't like to drink alcohol anyway.
It's 21 in the US, though I think it's stupid.
Suit a kid up and send the to war at 18.
They come back and want a drink, tough luck soldier.
Drinking and driving, however, isn't really a problem with teens it more texting and driving with our age group. I think drinking and driving is a huge issue with people with no self-control, not really age control. I live in an area where there's a lot of backwoods areas and a friends grad party, they had dumpsters full of beer, wine, an vodka. They were even letting the 14 y/o get drunk.
I had to drive home, so I didn't drink much, like I had a sip to taste something. My friend, 18 too, didn't drink much. Another friend of mines also didn't drink much. We could control ourselves despite being at an "uncontrollable" stage. We didn't get drunk, drink too much, hell another friend of mines is 20 and didn't touch ONE beer. Just doesn't drink.
I think it all boils down to self-control. Anyone can get beer easy enough, but not everyone can control themselves. Even those supposed to be the mature ones, over 21 who can drink legally, can't always control themselves.
The only time I've ever gotten drunk was in my house when I knew I had nowhere to go.
21. I like it here. First of all let me say in college I was in a fraternity and we gave out alcohol all the time. Cops would show up and shut it down but no one ever got in trouble. I like the drinking age at 21 because it ensures that on average it's only your college upper classmen that can walk around buying this stuff. Everyone else has to go through the extra hassle of finding a friend or getting a fake idea. People under 21 will drink and our government knows that but I like it this way because people that are like 16 are probably not going to get much access which cuts down on newby's drunk driving a little. keeping the age high keeps the death's low and "waiting" a few years to buy make you feel silly juice isn't really that bad.
It's 21 in the USA. I'm okay with it being that age, but underage people are gonna drink anyway. :/ I don't care because I don't really drink much.
It doesn't even matter that they changed it because people here are still drinking like nothing's changed🙈 what's the age limit for smoking btw?
Yeah that's totally true.. The legal age for purchasing tobacco is 18 too.
by the way ook nederlands?
Jaa. Ik vroeg het me al af aangezien ik steeds mensen van mijn leeftijd gewoon zie roken.

In New Zealand it's 18 but most people start drinking when they're about 14,15 they know someone who will buy them alcohol or find a dodgy liquor store.
The old it is the better it is I guess because it's mainly young people who cause trouble especially on it, and the older it is , makes it harder to get.
Here in the USA it's 21. I like that law actually. So many people are getting killed from drinking and driving.
As much as I love my country, our social standards are weird lol
I can go to war, smoke, fornicate on camera, and vote at 18
But I can't have a beer until I'm 21.
But hell, that's fine by me, I don't drink excessively anyways.
It depends, lol.
In some state, it's 21
In some state it's 25.
It's weird, lol
Here in alberta its 18.. Alcohol is yummy if you know how to mix
18 and I don't really care one way or another since I'm not really much of a drinker.
21 and I think it's fine. There would be a whole lot more car accidents if it was made legal to the lower ages.
Umm lemme see.. Legal drinking age = never
21 here in the US, I think it's too high.
any age, but you can first buy alcohol at 16
It's 18 in the UK. I think 18 is the perfect age.
