No food burns calories, some just have less than others. Generally most (but not all) high energy foods contain a lot of calories. I would recommend rice about 1-2 hours before a workout. Low calorie foods are usually fibres or portions as neither are broken down and stored but simple pass through your system after use if their is an excess, for protein, or after they have given your gut a workout, for fibres

Food gives calories, not remove them. Carbs are recommended to eat before you work out because they produce glucose (sugar) which gives you energy.
