What do some of you girls do to relieve period pain, and for you guys out there what do your girlfriends do to handle it?

I personally curl up into a ball until the week is over for as long as I can.

Depends on where I am. If I'm at home, drink nothing but water and sit with your legs up. (it's a strange looking position, fairly unladylike, but it helps keep that extra blood flow from just gathering in one space and causing pain.)

If I'm at work, I usually just suck it up. I mean, I'm also someone, I almost split open my hand at work and I was like "bro, just get me a band-aid, I got this." And I also got food poisioning at work (twice now, NEVER TRUSTING THE DELI AGAIN) and both times I just powered through even though I felt like I was dying inside.
But when I get a SUPER bad cramp (I'm prone to really bad ones), one time I literally had to take a minute from my register and just sorta crouch down when I had no customers and just breath because it hurt so bad. So NOW if I know I'm having bad ones, Ibprofin is always kept in my work locker.

Well I work as a cashier, but when it isn't busy they pull a cashier or two off the register to put out candy, batteries, and things like that. So to do that, we gotta open boxes with out box cutters and just put them up. Not tough. But I had pulled out my box cutter to get a box of batteries open, and a customer rather than trying to go through one of the MANY empty register lanes to get by, just HAD to go through the one with an associate standing in it along with a GIANT cart of candy boxes and stuff. I had my back turned, so I didn't see her come up, she shoved her cart against the candy cart to try and squeeze hers through. The candy cart then hit me in the back and made my hand slip on the box cutter and yeah, sliced my hand. T_T this bitch then proceeded to SEE me bleeding and decided right then would be the appropriate time to berate me about how I was "just standing in the middle of the aisle to avoid working".

Sorry for my mini-rant. I'm not mad I got hurt, that was just like, a thing that happened to me. I've just never gotten over the fact that this woman accidentally (I'm assuming that), injured me, but then still blamed ME, when I was DOING what I was supposed to in the first place. Just ticks me off when customers think they know what's up but don't.

Whenever I get my period I typically get like almost every symptom one can think of. It really sucks. But here is a list of things I do during these times:
• heating pad or rice sock
• midol or ibenprofen (Tylenol itself doesn't help me)
• eat bananas 🍌 (Helps with cramps)
• drink natural tea (a little sugar or sweetner or a lemon is good with it)
• curling up in a ball
• wear loose clothing
• eat chocolate

My hand's cool, it was awhile ago. Left a scar, so that's pretty cool. didn't need stitches though. It wasn't deep, just long. Went from like a bit above my wrist, around, and a bit down my index finger. Which I recognize is a strange angle. But, meh. Sometimes if someone asks about it I just make up weird ass stories as to how I got it. And I actually had a supervisor come over and help me, and he just goes with it if he hears me telling some story. It's pretty funny, cause he saw the whole thing happen, but if I say "Oh yeah a bottle rocket shot off in the store, hit the ceiling, smashed a lamp, and then a shard landed on my hand" he's just like "yup, saw the whole thing."

I know right xD Even though he's my boss we're pretty cool. It's weird, cause like, everyone else thinks he's mean. He just gives off that vibe. And sometimes he says mean things... But it's more of a sense of humor thing. Like one of the first things he ever said to me was "Since you're the least valuable on a register right now can you run returns"... Least valuable on a register. Stood there like "WELL THEN!" and now we're like partners in crime xD

But my suggestion is this. Drink plenty of green tea as that is good for relieving cramps and other pain. Take ibuprofen before you started with your period, but also before it gets worse. Make sure that you exercise before, during and after your period. Don't remain stagnate! Lack of exercise makes the cramps worse for your next cycle. Don't drink anything with caffeine. Caffeine helps make the cramps worse as well. Try to relax, have less stress. Go to bed early, and only take showers when needed. Other than that, no tub baths. Stay out of the water all the time. Wash up at the sink, use feminine wipes or baby wipes with mild soup and water.

Usually I just use heat. I have a hot water bottle that is pretty much permanently pressed against my stomach and when we go to bed, we turn on the electric blanket underneath us and he puts up with the hot water bottle against my lower back and burning his dick off 😂 Generally, periods are a time for keeping heat and light massage on my stomach and lower back, ice cream and complaining.

My grandma taught me a little trick when my cramps started to get unbearable. She'd fill a LARGE bottle with hot water. It has to be HOT! Not enough to melt the bottle obviously, but hot enough that it kinda starts to burn your hands just from holding it. Then I would just lay down, put the bottle right on my lower stomach and watch Netflix until I fell asleep, and by the time I woke up the cramps were gone.

I get pretty bad cramps on my periods but I don't like taking medication so instead I just exercise, apply heating packs to my abdominal area, and soak in warm baths with epsom salt. It doesn't relieve the pain completely but it definitely makes it more manageable.

I literally just eat constantly which has made this month awful because this is my almost worst. I've been in so much pain that I've been throwing up and needed help to have a shower. Yay me. And I can't take pain killers because of other medications I'm on.

I was in EXTREME pain and vomiting everywhere and hoping to god that a miracle would save me cause of the cramps the last time. So, I took some ibuprofen and applied a heating pad to my abdomen and tried to sleep cause usually when I sleep it off it works. I just hope my periods will be nice to me this time around.

Look up the wild child pose. That one usually helps. I also eat a lot and drink a lot of fluids, so my body can flush out the toxins that are already in there. That's what I do for every stomach ache. I eat food or drink tea until I feel much worse, then I use the restroom a couple times, and eventually the cramps/aches are gone.

i started using a cup and 100% of my back pain and most of the cramps stopped. Super hot water bottle for if they get a bit rough, make sure to stay hydrated and some gentle exercise like walking or a few yoga poses

I started birth control, since my body thinks I'm pregnant, the pain is cut about 1/3 of what is was. And it was excruciating... Besides that, keeping warm, avoiding cold water, pain pills, loose pants, and comfortable positions

I take Pamprin or Advil. I also take hot baths as they lessen the pain my cramps cause. This might sound weird, but I also massage my tummy. It makes everything feel so much better.

Take electrolytes containing sodium , potassium , chloride and phosphate. This is good for cramps. Drink a lot of water. Take iron tablets because you have lost blood.. If you have breast soreness , massage your breasts slightly and wear soft bra. Massage your pelvic region and stomach with natural oils like lemongrass. The tablets Ibuprofin , Neproxen , Pamparin , and Cataflam can help relieve pain. Use hot compress on your body.
