Has anyone ever ridden an electric unicycle?

I was driving home from work and there were two guys in front of me. I thought they were on bicycles riding no hands and there were weird lights on whatever it was they were riding. Finally I could see that it was an electric unicycle.

This can go 40 MPH!

... You know, the other day, I answered a question here describing falconry with a bald eagle, taking off at the sound of gunshot and hunting wild Big Macs, to be "the most American thing ever". But I think riding an electric unicycle while firing one of these bad boys:

a t-shirt gatling gun

may well surpass it.

Apparently, however, the electric unicycle company (which TOTALLY sounds like the name of a band from the sixties) is Dutch- not American, but arguably, in this context, the next best thing.

Don't get my daughter started on this! She rides real unicycles and has nothing but contempt for those things!

It is. The fastest has a 36" wheel (and, fortunately, brakes).

These guys were probably going 35 mph. Definitely fast enough to get yourself pretty messed up.

I’ve seen them everywhere in my area, they ride them on busy main roads and intersections which isn’t too smart but they go fast… every time I see one the person is wearing a motorcycle helmet and full body protective bike gear. Heard those things can go up to 60-90 mph depending on the model.

The guy that I saw had helmets and safety vests with blinking lights on them. I had to get up close to actually see what it was they were riding.

This is the first time I'm hearing about this and looking at one 😳 I don't think I'll ever ride one, lol. That looks bit funny and I'm afraid I'll end up falling off it and getting hurt. 😅

I've never been on one and don't plan on doing it either. I don't even like being on motorcycles

Doesn't have much chance of recovery in an unforeseen circumstance. An emergency stop would put your face into the pavement. No thanks!

My ex girlfriend hsd a Schwinn unicycle. I don;t think she really learned how to ride it.

I did eventually get it down good enough where I could stay up for a few minutes before falling off, gracefully.

I didn't know either but I saw these two guys riding out it the street so when I got home I looked on the internet snd it really is a thing. They have some that will do 50MPH.
