I've had so many run ins with obese women here in the US and some incidents growing up. I'm 4ft10 and I've been knocked over, squished, even bumped down an escalator be a very large heart obese woman possibly on purpose.
no it's not fatphobic because the only people who can be allowed to be fat or those with an actual medical condition that makes them fat which is of no fault of their own
if being fat was only relegated to those who had such a medical condition than yes fatphobia would be valid if those particular fat people are being discriminated however since the vast majority of fat people are just lazy and unhealthy, fatphobia is not valid for them
this is what the feminist body positivity movement fails to mention. they try to promote "self-love" and physical attraction even in unhealthy lifestyles but this is only limited to women. fat men are deemed sloppy, disgusting, lazy pigs who need to lose weight and stop making excuses but telling fat women the same is "misogyny"
after all, society can not force women to be attracted to fat men so why insist on men being attracted to fat women?

And this is coming from someone who has struggled with weight in the past (when I was a kid) & know people close to me who struggle with their weight even today. I don't think we should take the high ground on this very human matter & pretend as if we're immune to the same various factors if we were the overweight person.

So, I really agree with Jeff when he says, "If you did want to argue that it is a choice in some sense, I think the best you can do is say that it's a complex series of choices, intertwined with many other complex contributing factors."10 Reply

Anonymous(25-29)+1 yNo you’re not Fatphobic. In fact, any words that end in “PHOBIC” is meant to shut you up. Those aren’t real words. Those words are current and completely made-up.

+1 yFirst of all, the definition of the word "fatphobic" doesn't quite coincide with how it's being used socially, that's how weird it is. "Phobic" means having an irrational fear of or aversion to something. "Fatphobia" encompasses much more than just an aversion to fat people. It's a real disdain and disgust for them to the point where you discriminate against them and hold a severe bias against them. It can easily lead to hate speech, false assumptions and accusations, and mistreatment of those who are anywhere from overweight to obese. So where do you fit in?

The root -phobia comes from Greek fovos, which actually means any sort of fear, rational or not.
+1 yI wouldn’t say you’re wrong. Just look at it as being seen with 👀’s of jealousy. Of course, if you were to ever get bit by a lot of dogs…. Folks that are bigger than others find it empowering to intimidate with their size.
I would even bet you wouldn’t have your phobia if you weren’t being harassed, right? Was that person a minority? If so, it was mostly done out of racism.22 Reply- +1 y
Really. Seems the OP liked my comment.
I myself don’t have a fat phobia l like me some cushion for the pushin’.
I love having me some ass cheeks that can handle my grip as I go deeper. Nothing like the feeling l get when hitting that cervix just right.
When it comes to women, I am an equal opportunity satisfier.
But l can still offer support to someone that feels a bit bullied from time to time.
Before seeing your additional information beyond just the question itself, I wondered why someone might label themselves as being "fatphobic".
I think that the situation would be more accurately described as having a reasonable dislike of rude people.

+1 yNo, not at all. It's sickening that we are simply forced to accept and coddle people who CHOSE to be fat.. Nah there is nothing wrong with your attitude.
I will let you in on a little secret, I use to waleigh 400 .. i now weigh just under 200.. It took a shit ton of work to get there.22 Reply- +1 y
Thanks!
You can rest assured that full figured women are becoming more popular every year, but you're entitled to your opinion.

+1 yAnyone can push you down stairs tho, they don't gotta be fat, I'm sure if they can squeeze in without squishing you they would no? Lol

Asker+1 yI got pushed by a giant belly

So if someone skinny pushes you with hands you'll have a phobia of hands? Or you'll just hate the person that pushed you? 😂
Asker+1 yBut nobody skinny is doing this on purpose or otherwise. Have you ever had to sit beside an obese woman on an airplane?
- +1 y
I've never been on a plane period but if anything they might be very roomy consuming but they aren't to be feared lol
I mean that's truly really up to you
I don't think most people are obese because they want to be I think there's a chemical imbalance in place I think everybody has a story and
For me I'm not going to judge anybody just because of what they look like
If we're honest with ourselves I mean we all have a flaw someplace
with obese people
Whether it's a flaw or not there's out in the open00 Reply352 opinions shared on Health & Fitness topic. NO , these women carry " Fat Obese attitude " and you are correct to be extremely wary of these fat , loud , depressed , disgusting fatties , who have no self control and they are taking it out on you.

+1 yno such thing as fat phobic, it isn't a fear to dislike someone (and phobia is ONLY defined as fear, i don't care about concept creep in academia)
fat people really are less attractive and it is immoral behavior to be fat30 Reply
+1 yNothing to but tell these overweight people real loudly EXCUSE ME

+1 yYes. That's not a matter of weight, but of proprioception. When you get squashed by someone weighing 300 pounds, it makes no difference whether that weight is fat or muscle.

Asker+1 yI've never been squished by a body builder, they don't take up that amount of space

Again, it's about awareness and weight, not size.
