Eat a chip or something really sharp & have it cut the roof of your mouth?

I did and burned it with hot food. For some reason it still didn't heal, I can move a "flap" of skin on the roof of my mouth.

Should I just leave it alone, go to the doctor, or dentist? What could it be? Do you know what it's called?

Ouch. I think you should just leave it be. Don't mess with it. I've had it happen and its no fun. But it goes away in a weeks at the most usually. Try to not bump it with your tongue as well as try to keep the foods you consume to the parts of your mouth that aren't touching that area.

How long has it been? It's happened to be quite a few times and it usually goes away with time. I'll be rubbing the roof of my mouth with my tongue and that flap will suddenly just come off. Viola.

It's been more than 2 months & it still hasn't healed, I tried to do what you did, but the "flap" is right on a groove and it hurts

Oh jeez yeah that's a long time. Maybe if you go to a doctor, he can give you some kind of healing cream.

If the skin under the flap is healed - just rip the flap off if it's bothering you. It will eventually fall off once the skin gets dead and weak so. I'd just rip it off lol :P

The same thing happened to a guy I know. he didn't get it treated, and it eventually turned into a second mouth...Actually, get some hydrogen peroxide and fill your mouth with it then spit it out repeatedly.

Leave it alone. It will heal slowly. You can cover it probably with some over the counter product from a drugstore.

I always cut the roof of my mouth open when I eat tootsie pops. :/

Maintain good oral hygiene and avoid foods that can aggravate it while chewing. It will heal but you have to give it time.

One time I jizzed acid come into this girls mouth and her gums melted. :O
