If there's something in between the teeth, and you brush, you won't get between the teeth, and then you floss, and so it's still dirty.
Why not floss then brush your teeth? Does this make sense to anyone else?
I guess it gets rid of a lot more gunk that we would inevitably take off while flossing first, meaning we'd have to clean the floss a lot more.
Also think about it this way, if you've gone for scaling and your teeth are all shiny, squeaky, and sensitively clean, if you floss after there's not going to be much to get rid of. The only time you will really see something is when there is something stuck there. :)
If you brush your teeth at a 45 degree angle you'll have a decent chance of getting rid of most of the plaque at your gum line so all you'll need after that are touch ups with floss.
Brushing before probably eradicates a lot of gunk that's not in between the teeth, so the floss doesn't end up spreading gunk from one took to the next because the tooth brush has cleaned it away.
I am personally a mouth was person because I feel it's way more effective than a minty string.
Plaque gets between your teeth, that's why you floss.
As for flossing BEFORE you brush- if you did that, you'd basically be cleaning out in between your teeth, then pushing more plaque down in between your teeth again. You need to get it off your teeth, then from in between your teeth. Common sense.
lmao, I was always told to floss then brush my teeth, who's your dentist, I would switch if I were you.

That does make sense. But brushing your teeth will get all the big parts out first. I guess you could brush, floss, then brush again
I always rinse my mouth out, then use floss, gargle in between getting any bits out and then brush my teeth.
I think its because when we brush we tend to brush stuff in between our teeth. Because of this you should use mouth wash afterwords.
I've always been told by dentists to floss first, then brush o.o
Uh have I been doing it wrong all these years? Lol I've been flossing then brushings
I do floss my teeth first, but then again I do nearly everything the opposite of everyone else :)
To get whatever the brush missed. The bristles can't get in between the little cracks.
I brush, then floss, then brush again.
