What should I do for his birthday?

My SO's birthday is coming up on Monday the 13th and I have no idea what to do. We've been together for about 2 years.

He went through extra efforts to make my birthday nice but does not seem enthused at all about his birthday and gives me the impression that he'd rather ignore it.

Challenge accepted! Although I'm at a loss of what to do...

We both work that day, but I secretly took the day off in hopes I would be able to surprise him with something when he gets off work.

The thing is, we are going to be house sitting at his mother's while she is on a week long vacation during that time, so it kind of threw my "surprise dressing up sexy" out the window.

I already got him what he wanted for Christmas and kind of gave him another early birthday present which he loved but I don't feel like that's enough and I don't know what to do on the actual day.

Any ideas?

why are you throwing you "sexy dressing" out the window? Are other people going to be at the house?

a lot of people don't like making a big deal about their birthday (myself included) which is actually usually a good thing because they are pretty much up for anything and appreciate any effort. Maybe you could just gather a few of his friends and find something that they all enjoy doing. maybe going to a restaurant and then back to his mom's place to watch a movie or something.

but basically just think in terms of what he likes to do and who, if anyone, he likes to do stuff with

His step sister may or may not be there and I thought from his perspective he would find it a little awkward to have crazy sex at his mother's house lol, maybe it is something I should reconsider when the day comes.

I would love to get his friends and stuff together, but we just moved to a big city and don't really know very many people so that's a bit of an issue.

yeha if the step sister is there that might be strange. for me I wasn't never all that concerned about having sex in my parents house...but perhaps he is.

if you guys just moved maybe getting a few of the friends to come to town would be extra special...

but if you're alone perhaps you can find something just the two of you can do. if he likes concerts maybe surprise him and take him to a show. if he likes sports maybea sporting event, etc
