Only buy and cook as much food as you need. The fact that you overeat proves that you're already buying and cooking too much food for yourself. Cut down on the crap and buy only the essential groceries you need for 3 meals a day. No more, no less. If you don't have extra food lying around, you won't be able to eat too much. Also, whenever the feeling of wanting to eat strikes (and it isn't hunger), occupy yourself with something else. Maybe go out for a jog, drink some water, do some push ups, maybe even watch some TV. All you need is basically self-control. Tell yourself and your body NO. The food isn't forcing you to eat it - you're the one who keeps putting too much of it in your mouth. You need to be able to control it. Generally it takes about a month or two to break an old habit, so you just have to keep it up. No slacking off. If you really want to quit overeating, you have to actually WANT it and not just say that you want it.

Write down what you eat, and how you feel when you are eating. This will give you an idea what is happening to you emotionally. Then you can deal with the emotions in a more positive way than avoiding them with food.
Try to start biting the stress ball instead of the candy.
You'll quickly switch to working out to loose your stress since those gummy thing taste like a wastepile :-)

Anyone who eats that many calories a day is probably binge eating/making themselves throw up. Are you sure you're not leaving that part out? I advise you to seek a professional. Only you know why you are "emotionally eating." If you can't overcome a tense emotion and you need to eat, eat a bacon and avocado salad, maybe a fruit salad with yogurt in it and granola, anything that is healthy and can give you energy. The thing with breaking a bad habit is that you really should replace it with a good habit. Count your blessings and everything will be OK :)
Your lucky you are young and can eat that much without weighing 300 pounds. I would advise you to make a personal goal to burn off every excess calorie you eat. When you see how hard it is to lose the weight you will probably be less likely to eat.
Whenever you feel like eating brush your teeth instead and drink water..takes patience and willpower after about a week or so you'll find yourself eating less you'll find you'll not be piling up your plate
when you're upset, talk to someone or jot down your feelings instead of eating. Or if those 2 things are too girls for you, work out instead.
My dear friend,do not count calories while eating.Just enjoy your food. If possible eat homemade food and avoid packaged juices, cola and drinks.
Eat veggies you can eat as much as you want 24/7 365. and you will still lose weight.
