Its ridiculous, but I'd be lying to you if I said I wasn't dying to make my fortune off a frivolous lawsuit. You get paid for being an idiot. Did any of you see Anchorman 2, when they're all hanging out in the back of the Winnebago because they set it to cruise control, think that essentially meant autopilot? That was a real thing, some hillbilly did the same shit 10-15 years ago, crashed, and won a multimillion dollar suit because the company didn't idiot proof the instruction manual and explicitly say you couldn't do that. Honestly, these lawsuits are why life isn't fun anymore. Nobody gave a shit about safety in the 80s when I was growing up, and I'm sure even more so before then, and we all figured out how to not get ourselves hurt or killed by not being stupid, and those who couldn't won their Darwin Award and were out of the picture. Now people sue for anything and everything. Do you think Roger Goodell is ruining the NFL and taking away violent hits because he thinks its the right thing to do? Because its what the fans want? Of course not, he's covering the NFL's ass so they can't be held liable by injured players down the line. FUCK lawyers.

That's just plain ridiculous, he probably had it planned. He should of taken the free burger offer and left it at that. Tho the manager should of acted the way he did, but it's not $1.5 MILLION worth, but at least offered a free burger what more could you want.
Having worked in the fast food industry - BK - I can tell you that usually there are napkins in the lobby. Should the employee have given him more napkins? Absolutely - the customer is always right. However, the manager did the right thing by offering to comp the customer's meal - it's standard procedure at many fast food places.
The customer should have just taken the free food and had it been over with. The employee in question will have been written up and will receive disciplinary actions against him due to the confrontation with the customer.
Will he win his ridiculous sum? He actually might. I know it's a dumb thing to sue over and it's a lot of money but it's really nothing to a place like Mc Donalds to fork over that much so they might just pay it to him just to move on.
First off, the manager should have known better than to discriminate against his/her customers. But on the contrary, suing McDonalds because of this isn't a $1.5 million issue. First off, the customer should have called corporate or someone who is in higher command than the manager and reported the managers actions, because in the end, he's going to look like a complete fool for suing them for $1.5 million for a comment that was made. Sadly, people have become more selfish in todays society and thinking about others is becoming scarce as time goes by.

An article about it said the guy is suing for "mental anguish." That won't get him anywhere. Even if he miraculously wins his case, he won't get all that money since most of it will be in punitive damages, which any sensible judge will significantly reduce.
Well this issue doesn't seem to be the fact that he's suing for not enough napkins he's suing because of a racial comment. Regardless, nowadays people want to sue for any little thing. It's wrong but apparently this person feels the need to do something so drastic for a small comment.
He should counter sue on the grounds of "being sued by an idiot" which falls under the moron act sec 9, clause 221.
The funny part is when these people sue for crazy reasons then lose, it backfires cause they then have to pay the court costs + lost wages to the person the are trying to sue.Typical case of an ignorant person with an entitlement problem. Should the manager have gotten rude with him and said that? Of course not. The customer is always right, just give the guy more napkins. But is it worth suing over? Definitely not.
LOL! epic!
Its so true... Fast food places are always mean with napkins & KETCHUP!!!
They need to get it together & stop treating customers like crap!It is because our society has become a sue happy society that think any problem can be fixed by blaming people then sue them. I once got fast food and I need a spoon to eat it, but I did not sue that place I got over it and then problem solved.
I don't see how he can win his case because he wasn't really harmed in any way. I'm surprised somebody took the case.
I say he's an idiot. McD's will have to waste money on the lawsuit, but the guy will obviously lose since there's no justification for his asking amount and there was no damage done to him.
People sue over everything these days, not a surprise. Watch as he gets a hefty settlement.
However, that was rude of the manager to go flapping about the lawsuit filer's race. That's why stuff like this happens in the first place. Not sure why that's so shocking. He is suing one of the largest franchises in the world so he can get rich. Just another idiot trying to make money.
I saw it on the news and I was not impressed. That man deserves nothing as far as I know maybe free food if the manager used a racial slur
Guy doesn't care about his personal health, but cares about napkins? Hope he gets shot. If he gets the money I'd be outraged.
I don't like racism obviously, but come on that's over the top!!
It sounds like it was all planned, just wants money.
So what? Manager should've kept their feelings in check. And where can I read this story?
amazing. mcd is a big target these days.
... I don't like that guy.
everyone just wants a quick way to get money
America... smh.
