Text ex girlfriend happy new years? Still love her :-/

I was wondering how it would look if I at least texted my ex with a simply happy new years and wished her a wonderful year. Would her ego think I'm still chasing her and make matters worst? Or would it show her that I was obviously thinking of her and wanted to be polite. Ultimately by showing I still care backfire or is it better to just continue to ignore. I miss her a lot and I know she still has feelings or else she wouldn't have flipped out at a week ago when she saw me dancing with another girl at a bar. Its been 6 months since we last talked.

Why wait for New Year's? Just text her that you are thinking about her and missing her and see how she responds. It will allow your heart to be at peace and your mind to relax once she responds or does not respond.

It's only a 'Happy new years' which could be sent to all of your contacts, I would do it. If my ex boyfriend did that I'd be happy because at least then you can still be civil and she'll appreciate that. Girls don't just want to be forgotten by the person they were with for X amount of time.

She has been ignoring me. I saw her in a wedding afew weeks ago for the first time, and she really opened up and approuched me tfor small talk. Soon after she saw me in bar with another girl just dancing, and she was so mad her friends had to calm her down and she wouldn't talk to me when I was asking her if she was ok...and continued to ignore me after. She seems to not be over it yet...so that's why I'm wondering if I should wish her a happy new year :-/ since I still love her.

Maybe I'm being entirely stupid but if you still love her, and you think she's still got feelings for you, why on earth are you not together? I know sometimes things aren't that easy, but it's weird to me!

I agree. I think it might have to do with the disappointment that we broke up in the first place.. and the hurt that brought her...even though it was her decision. We just simply weren't communicating and I was too busy with work... and it was a sudden breakup. I feel that sometimes people hold on to the "story of me", which is the past... and their ego which tries to protect them from being hurt again won't allow them to see the future..no matter how much they love the person.

I've read your other comment (about pushing too hard when she broke up). That's what I did with my ex, and he ignores me now. But the fact your ex got upset when you danced with another girl probably does have a meaning. Maybe you should try to talk to her somehow. How long has it been since you broke up? Sorry if you already stated that somewhere!

Yeah... she was very upset...and afew weeks before this incident we were in the same wedding...and she was approaching me, and even at one point reached out fixing my hair...very strange from someone who was just ignoring me! We have been broken up for 7 months now. But stopped talking for 6 months.. until the wedding when we had small talk. I can't just talk to her, she will ignore me. This is why maybe a happy new years will show without engaging too much that I still care?

I find it so weird that she'd just ignore you if you talked to her, yet fixes your hair and gets upset because you dance with someone. I'm not sure, but she sounds very weird to me. But yes, send that text message and see how/if she responds.

Just shows you how confused I can be...haha. She hides behind her emotions and internalizes everything..so that could be why. No idea how to get through to her. We'll see if the text has any effect for her to open up. Thank you!

I'd say do it, but send her a text that don't require a response it will take the pressure of her to respond and will not make you look like you are chasing her.

Send her one for Christmas, like “Hope you have a great holiday for Christmas” something like that.

I pushed too hard when she broke it up...she pulled back and started to ignore me. This is why I'm reluctant and confused if I should reach out.

Just make one more attempt. Don't get all serious on her, just see if she wants to hang out sometime... That should make it obvious that you still care for her and like her.

Don't put any pressure on anything, if you two hit it off again, then great! If not, then take it as closure and move on.

Right now we aren't even talking. I pushed her too hard when she broke it off...and she pulled away. What I want is for her to know I still care about her, and open up the communication. If we were to get back togheter some time, it would never happen if we aren't even taking.
