It is an automated response basically saying I don't feel like talking about it.
Because most people don't actually care if you are not fine and you are more likely to be mocked/excluded if you say you are not fine.

Because people hate to open up about how they are really feeling. Usually driven by fear
Because a) they dont want to drive people away and b) a lot of the time the ones that do stick around dont know how to help.
Because people usually ask “how are you?” without really caring how you are
They don’t want you to worry about them. Even if there is something seriously going on, they don’t want to burden you with their problems.
Because nobody wants to really hear the truth. Trump taught us that. lol
Probably same reason guys do. It’s embarrassing to admit their vulnerabilities.
Cause nobody wants to hear about your bullshit. Everyone has their own problems.
Sometimes it’s like telling your scared self you’re not afraid.
Sometimes it’s like a fake smile.
Because I don't wanna bore people with my little problems and feelings so I just say "I'm fine"
