I would like to avoid that situation. I've seen what it does to people. It's like a drug that clouds your judgement and you can even end wasting your time too.

If it ever comes to that, I would like having the upperhand where he's the one catching feelings but I don't love him. That way I can think with my head more and not invest too much.

if you find yourself "falling in love" or being reckless and attached to someone. I think the best thing you can do is to figure out what emotional needs haven't been met and find an alterative way to meet them.

are you actually just feeling lonely, meet some new friends. are you bored, find a new activity, hobby. feeling stuck, go exploring. ex.

the best way to handle that is to look at your interaction with the person at face value. also weigh the consequences. if your relationship cost you more that it's worth than its clearly not a good decision. especially if you attachment is more based in fantasy

Yes it can be avoided. Best things to do are learn as much as you can about them. Leaving mystery and not seeing their flaws allows space for your imagination to trick you into thinking they are perfect

Feelings can’t be avoided. It’s how you react to those feelings and how you make decisions that matter. Look everyone makes mistakes, relationships are muddy and confusing and simply can be good days and bad. But you can’t fear getting hurt because if you always close your heart then no one ever connects to you. If you see others getting hurt and taken advantage of at least they are trying to connect and just learning from mistakes.
