Do you think this is something others should be warned about?

Someone I knew for a number of years is about to graduate and become a vet. The thing is, this person and their family don't even really take care of the animals that they have at home.

They have a parrot they have kept in a tiny cage for its entire life, and as a result, the poor thing cannot fly at all because of the tiny cage in which it has been kept. The cage is hardly ever cleaned out. They don't give the bird clean water regularly, especially on hot days. Their dog, who died a year ago, never walked the dog, and none of them ever really played with him either.

They then went on to buy another dog within months of the other dog having to be put down, but they don't walk or play with this dog either. This dog is a staffy type of dog, and knowing that these people don't walk the dog or really play with it, and knowing they also have two small children at home, I honestly can see it being game over if one of those kids accidentally gets in the backyard because that dog, while it does get fed, I guess you could say they are neglecting the poor thing when it comes to walking him and playing with him. I don't even think they have trained the dog either.

When I found out the person went to university to study to become a vet, I was shocked before telling them why you would become a vet when you don't even take care of the animals you and your family have. Do you think once this person graduates' next year and they go on to work in an actual vet clinic, people should be warned to be careful about taking their animals to this person because they neglect their own animals at home? I personally would not want someone who neglects their own animals treating my animals.
