Do you know how old your kitten is? Generally you can't or shouldn't adopt a new kitten until he or she is at least 12 weeks old. The kitten will be shy until learning the surroundings and becoming used to you, thus will tend to hide. Make sure you have some god quality kitten food and always have a bowl with fresh water fo the kitten to drink, water is the only thing they need to drink. Contrary to popular opinion, never give your kitten cow's milk as they have a lactose intolerance and can't digest the milk.
thanks
acclimatizing. Just allow the space kitty is taking and make no fuss, normalcy will happen. Even at that cats can be rather private. Enjoy them when they decide to honor you with their warm furry presence.

Do you have any toys that will get her engaged in play with you?
I have never owned a kitten but I learned through reading articles online that many animals and birds avoid eating when they are first adopted because the change in scenery stresses them out and makes them scared. If you earn their trust and try to make them more comfortable, and also study food options that might be easier on them then a typical diet, they will, over time, learn to drink and eat normally again. The trick is to make sure they adjust before their liquid and solids fasting leads to medical issues. That is both a product of luck and hope and maybe a little research and counsel too.
This is normal, she's terrified. She's at a place she doesn't want to be sharing room with this terrifying thing that could crush her if it wanted to.
Give it some time, eventually your kitten will calm down and see you as a friend rather than a threat and will begin considering this environment as a safe home rather than hostile.
First thing our cat did was hide behind the couch, didn't want anything to do with me and my dad. But, since the cat was adopted and the previous owner was female the cat did like my mom and bonded with her quickly. From hiding came exploring, and eventually the cat loved us. But don't be surprised if it takes a few weeks.
It all sounds healthy though just keep going with grace.
In a few years that will still be normal. Mine when I was growing up always liked to be behind my bed under the headboard. If they can't find a small space to crawl in, a dark place is usually their next favorite
i loveeee cattttt
Poor baby.. she is adorable 🥰
I think it’s pretty normal for the new kitten to act like that.. give her some time like a day and see what will happen.. because now everything is new to her.. sounds, smells.. the place..
sleeping under stuff or hiding is pretty normal, especially under coffee table😄 .. when I got my baby kitten he acted the same way.. but I think this one will be a bit reserved like mine..
try to put her in your lab and pet her from time to time.. 😊
Yup you said everything I was going to say lol

Where did you adopt the kitten at it depends on how young it is but it's a brand new place and he or she will get used to it just keep doing what you're doing keep giving love it's not so much that you give it is what they feel coming from you your energy that it will adapt to first because it can feel you throughout the whole house whether you're standing next to it or in another room but just love it and it will love you back
It’s been one day. Cats often hide in new environments because they’re stressed. It’s best to let them hide and make it seem like you don’t know they’re there by not making eye contact. Cats don’t like eye contact like dogs do, eye contact to dogs is a signal to play, but with cats it’s a challenge. When she’s out and about, let her set the pace and tone, and let HER come to YOU, not the other way around. Cats have boundaries and they’ll let you know what they are.
Normal behavior. I had a cat that hid under a couch for a few months and only came out when no one was around to eat.
ughhh why are they doing thissss
i don't think this is a problem. it's a new environment. scary and shit. it'll take some days to get used. but she does eat and drink so that's fine. by the way: how much do you think a cat is supposed to eat? like where did you get your reference from.
There's a concern that she may have worms, and you should take her to the veterinarian to find out about that. I think she's also getting used to a new environment, so I would make it as comfortable as possible for her. You must absolutely feed her kitten food, or she's not going to do well at all. Kitten food is a particularly rich and especially formulated type of cat food that's important for kittens to have in order for them to grow naturally and develop naturally.
Yes. Even some older cats will act the same way. Our cat will sleep anywhere or sometimes disappear for an entire day.
She's adorable. This is normal. She's just getting used to a new residence and is afraid. She'll warm up soon. Keep giving her affection and what she needs daily.
Very normal. She'll show up more once she feels comfortable. Give her a few days and she'll be following you everywhere. Don't bother her too much while she's 'hiding'. She looks adorable tho.
She's learning her territory. That's normal. Make sure she has water and food available. She'll eat and drink more as she becomes comfortable with her new home
The cat is just getting used to new surroundings. Iill eat and drink more as it gets more familiar with it.
Some cats ladies don't like women. What happens if a guy tries to pet her?
However this is a kitten, she rather needs time
The Kitty needs to be acclimatized. The best thing you can do is simply hold the Kitty while you're relaxing watching TV or whatever and don't let it get away.
Yes she's doing fine. Give her some space to get used to the house. She looks adorable.
Hmmm, from what I remember they are not supposed to be out for the first few weeks.
That depends on the cat‘s personality and your location. My parents and grandparents lived in small towns and all but one of their cats (a Persian) were outdoor cats.
Well, in our areas cars aren’t the problem like they would be in the city and Germany doesn’t have coyotes. Most of the outdoor cats I know got old, the last at my parents 20+ years, the last at my grandparents 18 years.
No doubt about that, Sir. I hope you will visit and confirm it yourself.
