Because they're probably gonna wreck it anyway so I don't see the point. If I were a parent my kid's getting a 06' Honda civic, not a f***ing Lexus. F***that.
But I mean, if your parents just love spending money out the wazoo then kudos to them
I dont live in a big city, but when I was in high school 4 years ago, 90percent of the kids "norm jocks" that got handed everything ended up living with their parents to this day, unemployed, and some on drugs. So there's your sign.
What does character have to do with it? Most of the kids I know who bought their cars are bigger jackasses than the ones who were given nice cars...in fact, most of the ones I know who bought their car are the same ones who have gotten truancy a couple of times, fail their classes, have kids, get into fights.
It has a lot to do with it like working for what you get, not, having things, handed to you and being humble, the things you said can be attributed to other factors and charecter can be yaught in other was but, this definitey doesn't help promote it

Any teenagers first car should be at least 20 years old since 9 times out of 10 it's gonna get wrecked.
