Ok so me and my girlfriend have been together for about 6 months. And so far it's been great. she's amazing girl and I don't think I've ever been happier.
But here's the thing. She's originally from Argentina and thats where her friends and family live. So she's decided that she's going to go back and stay with her family for the next 4 months. Now we had both known this was going to happen, and she asked me early on in our relationship if it bothered me. And at the time it didn't. But now as she's getting ready to leave, I think it's finally hitting me. I think I'm just now realizing how long she'll be gone for and to be honest, I'm not really sure how to deal with it. We've grown so close and the thought of her leaving for that long honestly makes me feel sick.
And if I'm being honest there's another thing that bothers me. I just can't seem to shake the fear that with her being gone for so long, she'll inevitably find someone new back home while she's there. I mean we've talked in the past about how much fun she's had whenever she had gone in the past, with both guy and girl friends. And at one point, she had mentioned how she had grown close to one guy in particular and had even had a short lived relationship with him. She's only mentioned the guy a few times since we've been together, but every time she mentioned how good of a guy he was and she seems to have really good memories with him. And it seems like they still stay in contact occasionally.
So I don't know, i guess in the back of my head there's just this fear that with her there for so long that she'll forget about me and find something new there. So my question is have any of you guys gone through a similar experience? If so how'd you deal with it?
