Boyfriend doesn't miss me. What do I do?

My boyfriend and I have been together for around a year. I went out of town for Thanksgiving with my family, he couldn't come so he stayed home. I've only been gone a few days and will only be gone a few more but I still miss him cause I love him. He texted me saying that she loves me but he doesn't miss me because it has only been a few days and why would he. I stopped responding so he sent a long message about him being sorry that he loves but he just isn't that kind of person. It upsets me cause I miss him a lot and he probably doesn't even think of me unless I call. He will be leaving at the start of summer for 6 months to study abroad and my worry is he will forget about me while he is gone and meet someone new. I have no idea what to do. I love him he's perfect in everyway but he doesn't show too much affection and I guess I show too much. What should I do? Why doesn't he miss? It makes me feel like he just doesn't care about me. I doubt he wouldn't be thinking about you-- you can't assume that.
Some guys are like that, they're just not the affectionate type. If you can accept that, then good, and if you really can't, then leave him. in my opinion it shouldn't be a dealbreaker, but it depends how bad it is.

What you do need to think about is whether or not you're interested in keeping a long distance relationship for 6 months. Talk to him about it, but ultimately you've gotta make a choice about this as well, and this is something no one can really help you with.
