When your guy says "I love you" then disappears!?? Help, Please.

Several months ago, the guy I have been seeing asked to hang out, and since then, we've been hanging out consistently. About a month into the relationship he threw out that he loved me (before we became bf/gf). Long story short, we decided to take things a step further and be boyfriend and girlfriend.

The Problem: A couple weeks after we made things official, he left to play Basketball for the Belize National Team. He promised to keep in contact with me, but has emailed me only once in a 3 week period! I have emailed him back and asked how he was doing, and have wished him the best. I try to keep my emails positive, but I am upset that he can't even call me or email me once a week! He said the trip would be 2 weeks and it's been three... he could be home and have not even told me... nor did he tell me he would be gone longer.

Why did he decide to say he loves me, become my girlfriend and then drop off the face of the earth? I know he's busy, but he should have some time to email... right? What's going on in this guys head?

Oh Ms Disneyteacher, he is an athlete and athletes are sexy to other women similar to Mr. Woods. It could be nothing, and he could just be busy; however, do not be surprised if he's sleeping around. He could be using you as the fall back girl and wanted to make sure he had you. I could also be wrong; hopefully, I'm wrong.

He's on the road, he's busy, and he's preoccupied. Wait till he gets back and see what happens.
