My boyfriend doesn't like me checking out other guys?

Question

FYI: I get very attracted to tanned-dark skinned guys (e. g. African guys, arab guys)
Anyway, he knows this so whenever we go out to places and if there is an African or arab guy in sight, he would always look at me and say "I saw you checking him out. Don't look at him" or "Why were you checking him out?"
Sometimes if our car is in traffic and a car pulls up beside us and there's arab guys, he would be like "Dont look that way" or he would kiss me.
Thing is though, when he says all this, he laughs. Like it seems like he's just half joking around. I don't take it serious coz I laugh it off but yeah I don't know.. it's quite odd.
Is this normal? Why does he do this?

It probably upsets him that his girlfriend is checking out other guys.
People tend to think this something only women feel. The jealousy, I mean.
It's not. Men do it, too. And when you're a person who is insecure about themselves like me, it freaking hurts, man. It hurts. You will start to compare yourself to whoever your partner was looking at and wish you looked like that, and you will question why your partner is with you if you don't fit their bill.
People say it's insecurity. I'm not entirely convinced. I am like your boyfriend, and though I am insecure, cripplingly insecure to the point where grocery shopping becomes taxing as I don't know weather I'm going to come home feeling depressed because I saw a pretty girl, I believe pride has a lot to do with it too.
My advice; lower your gaze around other men. It's okay to be attracted to other people. It's not okay to hurt someone. You accepted your boyfriend, insecurities and pride and all. If you can't, leave him and save his wounded ego.

I think he's a bit jealous, which honestly, I can understand. When you're in a relationship with someone, it's natural to want to feel like the person they want most in the world. If your boyfriend knows you feel a special type of attraction to guys other than him (whether or not he is also the tanned/ dark skinned type you're describing), that could make him feel very uncomfortable. I would suggest making more of an effort to emphasize your attraction to your boyfriend and be discreet about your attraction to other guys.

If he's laughing then he's he's actually joking around with you.

If he kept the straight face that would mean totally diff story that he is jealous and overly protective. I find that attractive in guys, I don't know why & also the way he jokes seems pretty fine!

even when in a relationship i think it's fine to check out the opposite sex as long as it's just that. He sounds insecure and is saying it in a joking manner but really rather you not check other guys out. He must be the jealous type just be more discreet if you check guys out to avoid any conflict with him.

From what information you give me i can tell your boyfriend is no the same race as the guys you are constantly checking out. Why are you even with your boyfriend if you are into guys of other races? Id say stop checking them out and respect your boyfriend.

As he's your boyfriend you shouldn't be checking other guys, just imagine it was the other way around... Also he could be a it insecure or simply joking but if you want it to stop just don't give him a motive
