Why is my boyfriend watching MGTOW videos?

I found, that he was watching a lot of MGTOW videos lately.
Don't get me wrong. I wasn't really spying. But when you are using someone else's computer you will come across stuff, that you just can't seem to miss because of the peripheral vision of the eyes.
And so I was using my boyfriends laptop to browse for some dresses, that I was going forward to buy. Yesterday I forgot to save a link of a dress, that I really liked and had to go to the history to get it back. And on my search for that link I found he has seen a lot of MGTOW videos on youtube. And i wanted to see some reviews of the dresses on youtube and on the homepage I saw MGTOW video recommendations.

As much as i know MGTOW appears to be very misogynistic and women hating and believe, that women are evil gold diggers and tell men to avoid all women at any cost.

I don't want to ask him about it because i could appear like i was spying and I don't want to regulate what he can do and what he can't do. I'm not a very needy person and I certainly don't drain his money. But I start to get worried, that he will break up with me because of those MGTOW videos telling him to. I am already too emotionally invested in him. What do i do?

Think of M. G. O. W. as the men's counterpart to women's Feminism. It has some elements of hostility toward the other side, but also discusses their genuine sociological concerns on the treatment of their gender.

He could be watching due to mutual concerns. He could be watching to hear from other men red flags to look out for to avoid their horror story experiences. He could be watching out of curiosity to understand a peer who already went his own way. Or he may be contemplating going his own way. Or he may be watching due a number of other reasons.

Have you tried watching the videos he already watched? Maybe there's a trend or train of thoughts recurring from video to video. Watching them may reveal some of his concerns.

You'll never really know until you talk to him about it and get his thoughts from him directly. Don't 「confront」 him per se. Just talk to him about it. Be honest about your concern and and ask about his concerns that drive him to watch M. G. T. O. W. videos to the point of them being in YouTube's suggestions. Stay calm. Be non-confrontational. Make it clear you're not angry and you don't want to control him and ban him from watching. You just want to know what does his behavior means.

And I sat with him to watch those MGTOW videos. I was asking him then about it and he mentioned "I am just seeing what they are about for learning purposes. MGTOW appears to have mixed things. Some are just plain female hating and some bring useful knowledge but I don't think, that I can take them seriously more than a few grains of salts. Many of them really hate women and I don't support this kind of thing."
I think everything is back to normal. But those MGTOW videos are really terrible and ridiculous. Everything, that is about women is about how vile women are and how women should be pumped and dumped. It was ridiculous to watch those guys call all of us gold diggers and bitches and all that stuff. They are like the feminazis but only as males.

That was just what I was afraid of. Since MGTOW degrade women and otherwise put women in the evil zone i wanted no business with anything MGTOW related. Him watching MGTOW videos after he said what he said does not really bother me anymore. Unless he was lying but I doubt he lied because he rarely lied and if he did then most of the times he confessed.
We are getting along now and now he doesn't even hide the fact, that he is watching MGTOW in front of me. Sometimes I can even hear him whisper "what the fuck?" and "what a bunch of bitter misogynists"

If any of what they say speaks to you, maybe make extra careful not to cross the lines in the video.
If your boyfriend is given evidence that you're just like every other gold digger then he will assume the worst of you.

MGTOW primarily targets men who were seriously mistreated by women or the justice system. If a man was never hurt by any women, he's unlikely to give MGTOW a second thought. Therefore, any contact with women is an existential threat for men, as they risk having their lives turned to rubble by the full might of the government, something no individual man can hold his ground against. Having said that, both men and women are attracted to the concept of love and a happy family by default (unless affected by fearmongering propaganda). That's why, unless proven wrong, men will assume that building a stable relationship with a woman is possible and even common enough for them to be able to establish one on their own.

However, there were a few incidents quite recently that sure raised men's awareness of the danger hidden in legislation and justice system. Probably one of the most (in) famous was the case of Johnny Depp against Amber Heard. Even though Depp was innocent, His career was mostly turned to rubble, most notably being deprived of an already agreed upon role in a certain Wizarding World franchise movie. He managed to prove His innocence in the end, but it proved to be a truly horrific ordeal, and some damage to His career was not reversed. An important outtake of this case is the cynical declaration of Amber Heard towards Johnny Depp: "No one will believe you, because you're a man." Make no mistake, this declaration didn't go unnoticed by the men living in the West. Even those who had no reason to suspect their partners of plotting against them just like Amber Heard plotted against Johnny Depp were alarmed. That is because men are not clairvoyants, and the Depp - Heard marriage sure seemed pretty wholesome until it didn't. Now, mind You, Johnny Depp sure is pretty affluent, thus He can afford the best of lawyers out there. If He was only barely able to clear His name, how much more frightening the possibility of such a betrayal must be for an average man?

It's quite possible that it's exactly the case of Johnny Depp that made Your Boyfriend curious about the MGTOW movement. Anyway, as long as He does not confront You head on about Your possible ulterior motives, it's most likely a healthy dose of curiosity with no adverse effects to be expected.

Summing up, there is quite an important reason for men to become aware of movements like the MGTOW and the dangers related to interactions with women, and it's exactly purely evil people like Amber Heard who are responsible for that.
