My boyfriend told me still loves his ex and always will?

We were talking about exes (bad idea I know) and my boyfriend admitted me that he still loves his ex. They never argued and the reason they broke up was because “it just wasn’t right and it wasn’t going to work”.

He said that even though he loves me, he will probably always love her. She’s not around anymore, he doesn’t see her, but it’s not a nice thing to here.

I don’t know how I feel about this. I know he loves me. What would you guys do? How would you feel?

Just tell yourself his past is water under the bridge. There is nothing you can do. Agonizing over it sure isn't gonna help you or your relationship. He is not and will not be the only one who still has feelings for exes. I truly believe that most of us still carry that lost love with us because it meant/hurt so much. We are human after all. Treasure what is before you right now. That is important. Nothing else matters.

I guess what you need to all yourself if you're fine with this. I had a boyfriend who died, and I'll always care about him, but that's not the same. I don't know of any ex of mine alive I still have feelings for. Maybe sexually is lounge to get with one for a night, but not so much I would good a good relationship.

It's normal to still love your ex. They meant the world to them at one point. Love doesn't just go away. It changes though. It becomes less of a romantic thing and more of a just general caring. Unless of course it ended on bad terms.

At least that's my opinion.

I think once you truly love someone and you say it you always will. The difference is who is he IN love with? To have loved someone is different then being IN love with someone.

You have a man who loves you. He can not help that he still loves his ex so let it go. You will never change that and as of right now he can't. Time will make his past life seem more like a fantasy than a reality to him. He is in love with her memory. If/when he meets her again in ten years or so from now she will have evolved into a person he no longer knows.

I think you need to have another talk and give him a chance to explain if that will get in the way of you now.
Because I think he may have meant loving them in a 'I care for their safety and wish them the best' kind of deal.

Its nothing bad. Its might actually be normal. Though you do need to talk with him and make sure that he doesn't think of going back with her. For example:I will always love my first crush. She was a very nice person and i wish her all the best, but if she was here and i had a girlfriend, i wouldn't choose the crush because if i wanted to be with my crush, i would have.

I've been in polyamorous relationships so Im unusual but there's exes I still love though have 0 romantic interest in. Theyre just fantastic people and I wish them the best.
