Is it a bad sign that my crush doesn't know my name?

My friend asked my crush if he knew who I was. He said he did so she asked him what my name was. He hesitated then called me by someone else's name. My friend told him that wasn't my name so he said that he didn't know. We aren't in any classes together but we always see each other in the hall and we've been going to school together for a while now. Is this a sign that it won't work out between us? Should I try talking to him more because we don't talk very often?

If you want him to notice you and learn you name, it would probably help to talk to him more, maybe eat lunch with him if that's possible, talk with him before or after school- make yourself known! And eventually try to see how he feels about you.

I don't think eating lunch together is a good option since his friends are super obnoxious. He is a pretty ignorant person though so it would be awkward if I said hi and he didn't say anything back.

I think he knew and lied to your friend you should try talking to him just say hi to him everyday and go from there

Well you have to start somewhere i dont think saying hello once in a while will hurt or just totally go in and start a conversation most guys wouldn't care

I mean there's a lot of people that I share classes with, but we don't talk at all, so the fact that he might not know you isn't all that surprising.
