Jay-Z is a billionaire and owns a (yes, crappy) sports franchise among other things. He's also a successful (though in my opinion not especially talented) rapper, and he's been a VERY successful producer and overall businessman.

Yes, he's not great-looking, but power, status, and money goes a very long way to elevate your Social Market Value (SMV).

Beyonce is certainly better-looking, and likely to retain her looks better than the average woman as she ages due to her physical fitness, and she certainly makes good money, but she doesn't compare with Jay-Z (who, by the way, earns a cut of Beyonce's money as her producer and publisher).

A "league" (or SMV, which is a more accurate term) isn't just based on looks alone, but overall desirability - and Jay-Z has a very high SMV. He gets invited to incredibly exclusive events and activities (cruising on other billionaire's mega-yachts, or spending vacations on private islands), has tons of credibility in the music business (he could make a phone call and get Beyonce on anyone's records or vice versa), and has as close to true freedom-of-choice as any man is likely to have - and those are things that a TON of women value highly. If he left Beyonce, he could have his choice from hundreds of models or actresses or singers.

I would just add that your being nice or not does become a natural uncontrollable feeling once a person has personally caused it by his/her behaviour that affected you. In those case, it can only be a super self control that can help you take the higher ground.

As to your last comment, this is all subjective, right? One person views it one way; the other might see something completely different. We cannot find an answer that will guarantee to satisfy us.
