Is it normal that my boyfriend got mad when I didn’t answer the phone?

He called at 8am when I was on the way to work and I said I can’t talk and I’d call him after work.

He’s in a needy state lately because he fainted and got injured a few weeks ago. Last week he called me on the way to work and was sobbing about a mean dentist secretary. I can’t take drama right before work because it stresses me out and there’s nothing I can do.

After work, I called him and he was upset and interrogated me about why I wouldn’t answer earlier. He demanded I apologize and when I did, he got mad saying it wasn’t sincere enough and it took 3 tries and 45 minutes later to get him to quit being dramatic and hostile.

This definitely isn’t the first time he’s gotten mad when I don’t answer. Is this normal?

he said he was upset because he was having an anxiety attack on the way to work and my voice would have cheered him up. It’s annoying because then I feel drained after and he feels better.

he’s an emotionally intensely person so every emotion is like a tsunami. He’s being tested for epilepsy so he’s super emotional lately

It might be normal for him, but it's not healthy behavior.

You might want to have your phone turned off in the morning (or tell him you have your phone turned off in the mornings so that he won't call you).

He might be an emotional vampire who needs drama (like some people need coffee) to get his day started.

Please do yourself a favor and read free-ebooks' "Are Men the Weaker Sex". It'll explain why he acts the way he does. I read it and I learned so much from it. Good luck, hon.

No it's needy and controlling. Why are you dating this overgrown baby who somehow thinks your job is less important than his pity party. I don't see him turning into a guy who can be a contributor to a household.
