Does a kiss mean you’re dating?

I kissed and made out with a guy after cuddling in his bed that I’ve been talking to for almost a year now. We talked about how much we liked each other and were going to miss each other, and how we’d been wanting to kiss for a while now. Does this mean it’s safe to assume we’re dating now or should I ask him what we are? This is my first actual possible boyfriend.

Tell him you feel comfortable dating him and asks if he feels the same. If you are going to date you will need to be able to talk shoot stuff anyhow. And if you won’t date them it doesn’t matter 😊

Define "dating" please. Because usually that means seeing each other frequently in a romantic/sexual way. It also doesn't necessarily mean you're exclusive.

But why would you not ask him? I mean, you'll have to talk about it eventually anyway.

sorry i guess i meant “together” meaning exclusive. i don’t know, i’ve never had to do this with other boys because i’ve just messed around with them for fun and for companionship, and we were never exclusive.
