Agreed on your update, i don't care if i never use the social media again in my life if i can be with the one who truly loves me and have that thing called real love!
It probably depends on this individual people and how often they use and what they really use it for, but do agree that's what's causing some relationship problems for people
I could not for work - and frankly, if my SO brought this up as a deal breaking demand, it would be a sign of something really messed up thus likely the beginning of the end of the relationship.
That's good. I get some people have to use technology for work/ business. But some people spend way too much personal time that affects ther time they spend with spouse/ kids/ family. I'm on here now, but I'm also here alone. If I wasn't? I wouldn't be. And still making kick ass meal. Not just sitting like a zombie for hours lol
lol yes same. This opens the door to a broader topic involving electronic devices and social media etc... if we are not careful as a society, our kids' kids might be born with a device connected to their hand... :)
I deleted my Facebook account 2 years ago and i don’t miss it. It’s basically a meme dump and a place to fear monger. I guess the only “social media” I participate in now is GaG.

Yeah especially since social media is very toxic only see the best of people so feel bad because of comparison etc
Of course I dont care about all that junk. I use it mostly for conducting family gatherings. However, in that capacity, I dont think she would ask me to, since I barely use it in the first place.
Lol depends lol are you here for real conversations/ advice given and received? Or here trolling for sexting/ pics or hookups like some are even the ones already "taken". Iit's not always just technology, is how people are using it
Wow ok. If someone wants their SO to spend more time with them then social media that makes them a terrorist? Wow again ok And this more a question based on what I see happening in relationships today, not my personal experience. Me and mine were never on social media, and you can bet if he was still alive, I'd be on him, not social media, just saying🤷‍♀️
If my actions and personality were not okay with another person, and all indications are that I'm not doing anything wrong, then that compromise is a tough sell. Complying in that instance would make me feel less like me. Perhaps a more agreeable person would find having their minor personal choices curtailed to be an acceptable state of a relationship—I do not.
I think you're missing the point, the point is some people are using social to do things they shouldn't be doing if they're in a relationship. Le texting/ sexting other females. Or communicating issues in their relationship they should be addressing with their partner, but ok
I am an individual. Just because some people use a platform irresponsibly is no justification for me to adjust my behavior to account for the negative presumptions of others.
That implication is literally part of the question. The question is posed as "would you give up all social media for your partner/SO?" With snippet captions that exclusively paint the activity in a negative light. There's no room for individuality in that simple equation. Whenever I'm fed a perspective I'm likely to examine its principles before complying with its hasty ethical assertions.
This ain't bout me. This was a general question. But it is an issue with the younger generation. And, sorry to tell you, but GaG is still social media site.
cool... since this is really the only thing I speak on, it wouldn't matter if I disappeared. I don't Tweet, Snap, FB, Insta or anything else. I realize this is shocking to some people!! They ask me "how do I exist". I say " better than you do ".

I actually believe that you may be on to something.
I need some social Media like YouTube for music/therapy/research.
I barely use social media anymore so i dont see a problem
I don't use much of it. So there's no worries for my partner.
yes if its important for our relationship then yes.
It probably depends on this individual people and how often they use and what they really use it for, but do agree that's what's causing some relationship problems for people
HELL YES. I hate social media with a passion. If a woman I loved asked me to give it up I would sign off in a heartbeat
I only use 3. With 2 I am active, with the other not much. Even if I had a dozen of social media, I wouldn't.
Easily. This is the only one I use, and I pretty much just use it to practice debating and spotting fallacies.
I could not for work - and frankly, if my SO brought this up as a deal breaking demand, it would be a sign of something really messed up thus likely the beginning of the end of the relationship.
Good update - got it now - and i'd say if I thought something was being a negative impact then yes I'd more than consider dropping it

What they're not already? Damn could a sworn🤷‍♀️lol
Yea.. don't see the significance of it anyways. Most cultures on social media are toxic. But also she would have to also.
anything but facebook (which is the only social media I used to keep connected with all my family and friends)
No, mostly because I'm not an idiot. It's kind of like asking "would you give up the internet for your partner?" from a social perspective.
Yes. I’ve always hated social media its a pointless waste of time and its boring as fuck.

Does this site count?

Just the convos... so far
No, and I don't even like social media. I just don't negotiate with terrorists.

And noone said that did they?

From a different point of view, I'm not ON social media, so there wouldn't be anything much to give up. I'm not sure you can understand that?>?
This ain't bout me. This was a general question. But it is an issue with the younger generation. And, sorry to tell you, but GaG is still social media site.
eh... gag isn't very influential as far as social media goes, but the question just doesn't apply in my particular case.
Ok that's good. Mine either

I'm the same way! Don't have any of that Well I have Skype but rarely use it.
I already plan to give up social media if I'm serious about someone 👌
