Why does he jump when I touch him?

This guy and I flirt and tease each other a lot. We're always having a great time and laugh a lot too. He calls me little pet names and I call him some back. So WHY, if I'm sitting next to him and I accidentally touch him he JUMPS and even sometimes moves his seat away? He looks a little uneasy when he does it too! But I swear, moments later we'll just go back to talking and flirting! What gives?

btw - there will be days when we'll sit next to each other and he'll tap me on the arm or rest his hand on my arm. Sometimes our legs will be up against eachothers when we sit together. I must say that this is more common when we have been drinking - BUT not drunk. We're talking after 2-3 beers. What is going on?

First of all, he seens to be attracted to you , which is a good sign anyway. Does he have problems with other people (esp. girls) touching him too (accidentally or intended)? Sometimes I myself do feel overstrained by people touching me too, so it could be just his personality.

But it could also be that he tries to only be your friend and evades when your relationship gets an physical aspect (unlikely, but possible, happened to me once). Try to make him feel even more comfortable around you. Good luck!

Honestly, he might have been molested as a child. I hope for his sake that this isn't the case, but I know, from my own experience, that I tend to jump when a girl touches my arm, shoulder, back, etc. and i don't see it coming. Maybe he would feel more comfortable with you flirtatiously touching him if you made sure he was looking at you when you went to put your hand on his arm or grab a hold of his hand.
