Is it fair for my boyfriend to expect me to pay half the rent for months I will not be living w him?

hi guys! he wants to get a place in march and I can't go live w him until school is done in may, he knows this, he expects me to pay half the rent in march and April and said it is the right thing since it is both of our place... what do you guys think? is he an asshole or is he right? also pls see my previous question if you have time, I would appreciate it :)

That would be ok if you were both young and broke but if you're 26 then you should look for a guy who won't put you in that position because 1) he understands how it makes him look as a man and 2) he can afford to rent it by himself for a few months. And if he couldn't afford it then you should both wait until you can actually move in with him.

At 26 you should really look for a guy you can settle with and for that you need good character and for him to have a stable income to support a family.

When you go on vacation you still pay rent. You're agreeing to live together so you're agreeing to paying half the rent.

i won't lol trust me, he is the one who is wrong right? he is currently with his dad and sleeping on a sleeping bag in a closet/den basically and has no internet cus they live in the middle of buttfuck nowhere and have horrible wifi so i dont blame him, but i dont think it is fair to expect me to pay half right now. also, it is technically his grandpas house not technically it is, his dad is also staying there temporarily and his family is fucked up so his grandpa and the gold digging new wife he has whos 30 years younger want him out of there asap so he feels like he has to move
