Ex boyfriend broke up with me because he felt he needed space and time to regain himself back and asked for me to move out. Help?

He is currently living at his golf course house until I move out of his actual house across town. I’m here without him until I can move in with my aunt. We have been together for 9 months and lived together here with my daughter. He said he wanted space a few months back and we had a slight argument but ultimately it didn’t seem like a big deal and we went on like normal. Then, a few days ago some things happened that stressed him out and then he went out of town for work and said he’s wanted space and wanted me to find a new place for myself and my daughter. He said there is potential for us to get back together but I need to make changes to my lifestyle and he wants me to strive to be my best self. I couldn’t believe it as I love him and he knows it. In a nutshell, he called me out on not giving him space and I kept trying to text and call. I asked him multiple times if we were done and he finally caved I guess and said yes. Then he called me after sending a huge text explaining what I did wrong in our relationship. And when we were taking, I was crying and he was crying as well, but we both talked about what we were doing wrong and then ended the phone call on good terms. What is going on here? What do I do? I want him back so bad but I don’t want to be desperate anymore
