My friend slept with my boyfriend. Why is everyone taking her side?

My best friend slept with my boyfriend, then tried to go after my new man a couple months later. She also rubbed it in my face that she "stole" my man from me and they are still together. We are obviously no longer friends, but I told a few close mutual friends about what she did to me, and they said "aren't going to take sides" and some people even sided with her in all of this. They say they can't believe she would do something like that because she seems "so nice." She has been telling everyone she "can't help who she likes" and therefore she's not at fault, while gloating to me in private and sending me texts about "being able to steal my man". No one believes me when I tell them what she says to me behind their backs.

What should I do?

Just the fact that one of your friends did this to you proves that the people around you may not in fact be real friends. Drop everyone. Focus on yourself for a while, figure out who you really want to be around, and then find people who will support you and won't screw you over. I'm so sorry that you had to go through this; something somewhat similar happened to me a little while back. Unfortunately, people can just be petty + mean. If your friends are a source of negativity and toxicity in your life, just drop them. Walk away from bad environments, even if it does hurt. Eventually, it'll pay off, and you'll be much happier and more supported.

Your "friend" sounds personality disordered. She is obvs avoiding accountability and lying through her teeth to preserve her image in this, even though she's obviously done something terrible. Honestly there's not much you can do. You can show the mutual friends the texts she sent you as proof. But beyond that, they will ultimately believe what they want.

As you said, she is jealous of you. She has not won, you have. You will always be (from the sounds of it) a better person than she is. Take comfort in that.

A girl cannot steal a man from another girl if he is in love and fully committed to her. If this guy wanted to be with you, he wouldn't have went to her. Having said that. What they did especially this girl was disgusting one day karma will hit her in the face. My advice distance yourself from these so called friends because they aren't no friend. Your better off without them.

Thanks, I fully get that, but she went after him on purpose to hurt me. It's obvious with the gloating, and she told me she was "jealous" of me and basically wanted to get a one-over on me. What really hurts is the friendship betrayal moreso than the cheating. But no one believes me that's the issue. They all think she's a "good friend" smh.

I understand how much it hurts to not be believed as I confronted a cheater and nobody believed me about him cheating on his girlfriend at the time who is now his wife. They all believed he was prefect and he would never cheat on her. I am a firm believer they will eventually see the real her and they will one day realise you were telling the truth but by than you will have moved on and met some true and genuine friends.
