For the men and women with a current partner that have a child with someone else, what would you find of this gesture of your current partner?

So my boyfriend of 3 years has a son with another woman from a previous relationship. I get along with her very well and we like each other, you’d think we’re friends or family if you see us hanging out when she comes visit with his son. Recently her sister has come as well (because of the war in Ukraine they both moved to our country) with her son (my boyfriends sons nephew), the father of her sister’s son isn’t in the picture anymore so my boyfriend also takes care of him as his own. Me and my boyfriend do temporary long distance and i’m coming to visit him again soon, so I was thinking of buying some nice sneakers for the kids, both his son and the nephew that my boyfriend also takes care of as his own. I might not see the mothers because they don’t live with my boyfriend (they live in their own appartment and the kids live with my boyfriend) so I wasn’t sure if they wouldn’t like that gesture or wouldn’t like that i buy shoes for their sons or something. Wasn’t sure how they would perceive it, and was thinking maybe I shouldn’t because it’s THEIR children so i shouldn’t buy them shoes as if they don’t have any lol. What would you personally think if your current partner bought a gift for your child/children you have with someone else?
