The sooner the better. It’s a casual enough question to ask now and I’m sure you’d like to know where he stands so you won’t waste each other’s time if you want different things.
I think if he’s been single 2 weeks he’s not after something serious, and if he is that would be a red flag for me as that is not enough downtime from a relationship imo… most guys, in my experience, will make it very clear what they want from you… but just ask him
