My boyfriend was creeping me out and I broke up, were my reasons fair?

Anonymous

He first started demanding that every time I leave and it's not related to work... to call him every 30 minutes. I never gave him a reason to distrust me so I found that strange. Why would anyone need to constantly call their partners that much after just stepping out to go to the supermarket for instance or if you already informed you're over at grandma's? One time I didn't feel like doing it and he got upset (he screamed and said horrible things), practically wanted to break up and refuse to speak to me for almost a week. He reacted as if I had cheated or committed some foul or something.

Then he started getting upset because I didn't put likes nor hearts on every single story, news or things he posts on facebook. He started saying ''Oh so now I guess I'm gonna have to punish you for this by not wishing you a b-day, you forget my post so I guess I'll forget your b-day''.

I blew up and said ''You know what **** you. You're creeping me out and sounding controlling. Get out of my life.'' Were my reasons fair?

And why would a partner feel obligated to put likes on every single thing you post on your facebook? I'm not on facebook all day long and sometimes I'm just very busy.
