What would you think if you told your partner you cheated and you got no reaction?

Okay so I've been dating my boyfriend for 5 years now and he has cheated. I told him that I cheated on him and he didn't react at all. he didn't say. has never brought it up again and he's like he doesn't care. I just want to know what y'all would think. if it were you that were in this situation because I don't understand how you don't react. if you love someone and you've been with it for five years what does this mean.

I've read the other responses. And I don't disagree. But I think there's another possibility. I'm sure everyone will yell at me for the idea, but, whatever. The other possibility is that he heard it, accepted it, and is moving on. You guys have been together for 5 years. That's a LONG time. That's committed. So it's entirely possible that he loves you enough to take in the message, and move forward with the relationship.

So, in answer to the question in the last sentence you wrote, my answer is that they love you immensely and their love for you is unconditional such that it's not an excuse for cheating but that his love for you (and presumably yours for him) triumphs over the cheating.

Okay, there is some confusion here.

Did you boyfriend cheat on you and did you also cheat on him? Or you just said you cheated on him just to see if he reacts or not?

To me it says your relationship is at the end of the road. The fact he doesn’t even care you cheated means he mentally and emotionally checked out of your relationship a long time ago. He probably is still doing things behind your back, and ultimately you are two people looking for something that you aren’t willing to give each other, so why stay together? The love, the trust, everything fundamental about being in a relationship has been destroyed. 5 years means nothing when this is what it’s resulted in.

First off, why you still with a guy that cheated on you? You should have broken up with him on the spot!!!

If you hypothetically told him you cheated just to get his reaction? That's not a good sign.

If he's not reacting, to me that says he either doesn't care because he's over the relationship and emotionally already broken up with you. Or he feels guilty that he cheated and knows he can't call you out for something he did.
