Why tf is it so hard to build a genuine relationship nowadays?

Like no one wants to get to know each other anymore nowadays, people are so awkward and weird to strangers, I always try to be confident but still, how tf do you even make relationships then?

To be quite frank, I feel like COVID quarantine really fucked things up socially. Many people who were comfortable being social or wanting to build connections got so lost in isolation that it became difficult to transition back into reality. I feel like currently, that plays a major role in things. Also online interactions have made things more difficult for real-world communication because now we're offered the freedom of time to think about a response before we give one but also the pressure of being watched/filmed by the world at any point in time and ultimately judge by every single breath we take. All of this creates such immense anxiety within people that we find it difficult to interact without feeling intense shame or guilt for every little movement. Especially when EVERYONE has something to say or a different opinion and are relentless in telling everyone else how awful they are for just existing. It's a tough world to live in already but social media has made it almost impossible. I'm sorry to say that's what the newer generation has to deal with.

I think it's understandable why it's hard to find a real connection because of the lack of effort people put into their relationships, indecisiveness in communication, and lack of empathy for the feelings of others on difficult topics like money or health problems.
