I am very much A gift giver. I give little gifts sometimes early in the relationship. Early being like a month in. As far as I myself have never been one who's been comfortable asking for a gift. Before I continue that statement I do feel there are times where it's perfectly okay to ask for a particular gift if for example it's your birthday or there's a holiday coming up and especially if you've been asked what exactly do you want. However even when I'm asked what do I want I struggle to the answer. I become rather shy. Now if it is a specific holiday Coming up or my birthday I have noticed in relationships under a year I won't even hit at wanting anything now relationships pushing a past year into two I may hint at once in something. But in general I'm very shy about asking. What about you? Do you feel there's a certain rule to asking for a gift or giving gifts in relationships?

  You shouldn’t -need- too but if there’s something they really want i think its a great idea to make an attempt to get it if its not too much for you to get. It means you paid attention to things they like and want. Potential bonding moment there.
