Does anyone else still keep in contact with ex's?

Question

So I still keep in contact with a few ex's. Only the the nice ones, not the assholes. Some were boyfriends, others were fuck buddies.

We don't speak a lot but occasionally on social media I will check in with them. I've got a boyfriend of 2 years and he gets annoyed by it. An ex messaged me asking for sex and he saw it. Obviously I said no but he doesn't think I should talk to him anymore.

I'm very open honest and loyal and would never cheat but suppose me and my boyfriend don't work out? I'm sure we will but if not, I'll need sex! Sounds bad I know.

At least you admit to keeping your exes around for backup sex. I assume most do but won't admit it. An ex is an X for me. Been there, done that, ready to see whats next. I dont like to revert back and repeat the same mistakes when I can improve or perhaps make a new one. I don’t want to be anything with exes, not fck buds, not friends, Even if we end on a good note, I will find a way to sabotage that because I just don’t want my past peeps apart of my future. Show your boyfriend some respect and stop talking to your exes.
They were past lovers or men who have been inside you. That's the problem.
If you love your boyfriend, then he should be the only guy in the world to you. He can't be that when you're checking up on his predecessors or acknowledging their existence at all.

If you don't have what it takes to do that for your man, you two should break up. The fact that he doesn't like it tells me you both have different values and it won't last much longer anyway

Woman usually say "lets stay friends" when they break up... I have had it said to me several times. They never make it true; in 100% of cases, I would be ghosted after. So no; no contact with ex's after breakups. And to add to that; even if an ex contacted me now (with me being married now), I would not be interested in maintaining contact. Sure I'll answer to incoming questions, but I would not put any effort into maintaining further contact, and ofcourse I would tell my wife about it.

For me an ex is an ex for a reason. As a general rule, I agree with it. Relationships usually end due to incompatibility between two people.

The problems that ended the relationship in the first place are likely to be a problem again should you try to rekindle things in the future.

I feel sorry for your boyfriend of 2 years because he'll have in the back of his mind that you could walk 🚶‍♀️ out on him at any time or whether you've caught up and had sex with any of your exes.

You're creating unnecessary problems in your current relationship.

No, I don't still talk to any exes but one day out of the clear blue I had one send a friend request on social media.

We're both married so I'm not sure why he sent the request and we never interact except he'll wish me a happy birthday every year. I acknowledge the sentiment but I never return the gesture. 🙂

After 20ish years my ex wife called me.
It was a bit awkward at first.
Now we are fine, message each other a few times a month, wish each other happy birthdays, holidays, but that is it.
She lives halfway across the country so we really don't see each other.

I don't talk to any of my exes at all. No need to. I long moved on, and they're out there doing whatever they do. I already get sex when I want or need it, so reaching out to an ex isn't necessary.

Yes, with only one, the last one. We broke up because I received a scholarship to study abroad and it didn't work long-distance. Our schedules were not alligned and it was hard for us to communicate. Now I'm back and I'm single and I think she might be single too. I'm not very confident it could work out again, but who knows.

That depends on them. I have no problem remaining friends with an ex but the feeling isn't always mutual. I don't know how to stop caring about someone. But if the ending was toxic I might have to cut them off for my own protection. So in that case I just wish them well, pray for them and move on with my life.
