Why would an ex deliberately post thing on his social media of things he specifically knows you like with a new girlfriend?

Either because he knows you'll see it, or because it's something he enjoys too and isn't even thinking about you. Either way, why are you still subscribed to him if the stuff he posts makes you feel bad?

It’s okay. No I know he’s doing it to try to get to me, the question is why…

I don't think there is any large goal. Sometimes bad people just want to hurt someone and that's it.

To get a reaction. If you broke up with him and he knows you are looking at his social media, he will do anything to make you need therapy. Never look at an ex on social media

He watches all of mine and I’m not putting effort into trying to make him jealous, in fact I don’t post good stuff like that, one because I’m a private person and don’t feel the need to brag, and two I’m also considerate of others feelings.

Could be saying “I can move on, you’re not the only one I can be this happy with.” Or something similar.

Could be trying to poor “Salt in the wounds,” if you were hurting by or after the break up.

Of course they could just be posting it not intending to hurt you, now that I think a bit more about it. Maybe just posting in general not directing it at you. Have you considered that?

Of course I’ve considered it, it was my first thought, but that gut instinct says otherwise and so do my guy friends.
