How do know if your ex is back for a relationship or he just wants sex?

My ex came back love bombing me and saying how much he missed me and how much I mean to him. For first two weeks he was great, we talked everyday, we hang out. One time when we were out, he asked me to take his picture. He told me the picture was for his parents but my gut feeling was telling me the picture was another woman.

Then he stopped texting me back and taking days to return my message.

Now he's out of town and hasn't responded in five days.

He doesn't want a relationship, does he? I am his back up plan for sex, right?

Do something fun before you have sex again. Pay attention to where his attention is. Namely, is he showing a lack of genuine empathy for the situation

I would love to but I am afraid it's too late. He told me he will move out of the way when I meet someone special. This means he's thinking our situation is to be place holders until better people come along.

So then it's up to you. He's trying to say as much as he enjoys your company and being intimate with you, he doesn't realistically see a long term relationship. Which could be for any number of reasons.

It doesn't necessarily mean he's "using" you or anything bad. If anything, it sounds like he's acting outside of his self interest in order to be fair to you.

If you continue being intimate just know you'd be doing it as friends rather than lovers
