Is it true that when you know you know?

I've been this guy for just about 4 years now. We haven't had the most smooth sailing relationship its been pretty unconventional really and we've broken up a few times but throughout our time together I've always had this gut feeling deep within that we're just meant to be together that he's the man I'm going to marry you know. I've tried to shake it but it's too no avail. Even when we aren't together or on good terms deep within me I just know he's the one y'know.

We're both 21 now but I've been in love with him since I was 18 it's insane. I look back and I can't even believe we're still together because it all started as a one night stand lol. He hasn't always been the best but he has genuine real love for me.

The other night he told me that he knew I was his "soulmate" from the beginning and he just had trouble with accepting it and I get it cause I did too. He told me he wants us to get married once we finish school (we're both in our final year of college) that he can't wait to start a family with me. There are things I still find hard to believe even though I feel the same way too. We've both grown a lot since we first got together. Everytime I think of him I think of the red string theory we always find our way back to each other somehow and I love him.

Am I still too young to feel this way. Has anyone else had this gut feeling. Does he really believe I'm his soulmate?

I’m going to be the devils advocate here and just say to be careful. I was in a similar situation just based off the limited info you presented. I was in love with this one girl since high school and felt in my gut that I was supposed to marry her and we would be with each other forever. She hardly knew I existed but I manifested this into reality and sure enough we met, we fell in love and we got married and had two kids. We were married for 16 years and together for 20 before we called it quits after I found her with another man. But the signs were there throughout our relationship. It was very bumpy at times and we kept going through these blowouts and then honeymoon phases. Classic toxic relationship. It was fueled by drama I suppose and I pushed and pushed to keep it going because in my stupid gut I felt we were meant to be. But sometimes the heart lies or just doesn’t know any better. Anyhow, after getting divorced which I thought was the worst thing ever initially, and I went through a lot of depression in the beginning I found it to be the best thing that’s ever happened to me and have moved on and found someone whom I have none of those hurdles with. Are they my soulmate? I don’t know yet, but I’m loving where it’s going so far. No drama. Just enjoying each other and being happy. Of course I wish you the best. But just make sure you’re happy and not in a state of codependency. Don’t waste any of your life or youth.

I definitely feel you on that gut feeling that she's the one. When you know, you know, right? And it sounds like you and your girl have been through some ups and downs together already, but your connection is real.

A few things that make me think this could really be it:

- You've both had time to grow up some since you first got together young. Sounds like you've learned from past mistakes.

- That she's still standing by you even when times weren't smooth shows how deep her love goes.

- Him calling you his soulmate and wanting to marry you up is HUGE. Dudes don't throw that word around if they don't totally mean it.

- The way you always find your way back to each other no matter what - that's some serious soulmate-type vibes right there my man!

You're still young so don't rush into marriage. But keep working on yourselves and your bond. I'd roll with that gut feeling - when it's real, it's real. Wishing you guys all the best moving forward!

If man says it yeah. Especially after all this time. Men naturally want to hit, quit and be free. He loves you. Congrats! Proof this crap about sewing wild oats in your youth is BS and ruining people. Be happy you found this so young! Don't squander this opportunity.
