So my boyfriend and I have been having some issues lately. Majority of the conflicts from my end are due to the fact that he follows multiple random girls on instagram and likes inappropriate pictures of them. For him, he gets upset because I constantly tell him that I want to break up or end things. This time around we finally resolved things 3 days ago and he said he will remove those girls and stop liking pictures in the upcoming year (2024). But I saw him like another picture just yesterday. I know it wasn’t 2024 but why would he keep liking when he knows it upsets me? Anyways, so our fight happened yesterday on NYE. We were supposed to go to his family’s party together but I got upset and told him I will stay home. However, I felt alone at home since everyone was out and I decided to go see him at the party. At the party, he doesn’t give me much attention or time as he’s running around talking to everyone. I ask him to sleep over since we didn’t spend much time together all night and he declines and says he wants to sleep alone. I get hurt by this because I already felt neglected by him all day and now I feel he doesn’t he want to spend time together. I am also very drunk at this point. So I throw an outburst and he gets annoyed and leaves to go somewhere else. I follow him there and he keeps telling me to leave him alone and won’t talk to me even when I try to explain why I reacted that way. Eventually I left and went home. I called him this morning a few times to try to talk but he didn’t answer. He texted and said “leave me alone please.” Does he want to break up with me?

It is clear he doesn't want to stop his liking behavior of these Instagram pictures, and for heaven's sake they're PICTURES. It's like him liking old Playboy centerfolds. What does it matter? Is he dating these pictures?

You are inappropriately jealous of a behavior that is fairly innocent and gives him a little kick. Leave the guy alone and LET HIM GO. He is tired of your nagging. He is "liking" sexy pictures of some women who are not in his life, who he does not know personally, and never will.

You need to stop being jealous over nothing. And until you can be, you probably shouldn't be in a relationship with anyone. Good luck.

You demand that he stop liking PICTURES on Instagram? This isn't your business, for one thing. What he does on his own time is his business. And it means nothing. It's light entertainment if he looks at sexy pixs of women.

He is not having relationships with any of these women. He is not spending time with them.

You actions sound like the actions of a woman who is jealous of his spending any time looking at any other women, no matter what their status is. That isn't rational. In real life he is your boyfriend and he devotes his free time to you and your relationship.

If you can't accept that his private time is his, whether he's playing games, baseball with his buds, or darts or whatever avocations he has for fun, such as looking at some sexy pics of online women, then that is jealousy. You might also complain he's spending too much time with his buddies, or playing online games, or darts, or going for drives in his car: all things he does without you in mind, or in tow.

You've simply chosen the sexy pics aspect. Leave the man to his fun, or leave him alone, period.

I couldn't even read all that because it's a head spinning around and around. Chill out and just be. You're over-thinking and giving off a vibe of high-maintenance insecurity. Guys are not all that complicated. It's women who make it complicated in their own circuitous cyclings of meaning and possibility that aren't even there.

Because you're buzzing around him like an angry bee and he's afraid he's going to swat at you and start something that will get him stung. Show him that you can back off and give him space to breathe once in a while, and maybe he won't go into defensive mode and shove you away.
